this week has been home and more home... so i decided to play more maple instead of just stoning in front of the computer screen... other than maple, the re-run of Chuang Shi Ji 2 or Genesis helped me pass the afternoon... i love that show... political business stuff..with all the big hongkong stars acting... never tired of watching it...

watched the american model reunion thingy show a couple of nights ago... no..i think it was yesterday night... and tyra banks struck me as a extremely confident and powerful woman... sort of like a big boss feel but where you 80% respect and 20% fear...

allowance comes on saturday...i hope next week there are things outside of home for me to do...

and i finally got my lyrics...now contemplating whether the whole product is good...

exam results are out... i'm happy with it...nothing less than a C+.... so its all going pretty cool for me academic wise... only disappointment was performance B+...thought can A or even Distinction one...but well... scoring so well don't really matter much to me...i as of now don't intend to further my studies..and there's no related course locally...so what for?

anyway...moving on... i've got another song...or almost...all is left but the lyrics...pondered over it for almost 2 days and no idea what to write at all... i guess my life is...i don't know how to describe..but there are no ups and downs in my life at the moment... no achievements, no relationship bliss or problems, no stresses, no problems, no excitement, no nothing... so what can i write about? i need the muse!

bought a motorola v3 for $13...all thanks to M1 for using dark tactics to tempt me to signing a 2 yr contract...

flu drains lots of energy... so i'm off to sleep early...a first for the holidays...

went to observatory's gig... enjoyed it...1st time i'm hearing so much observatory... haha...i like the delays on the gibson 335...i think he had a dl-4 together with some old boss delay pedal which i believe is discontinued... cool stuff they had going there... at least i can say i can understand what they are playing...

falling sick and there's budget 1 hr jam session tml with nic's band... after that i think its home for the rest of the week...

pat metheny trio was totally awesome!!! killer trio!!! and antonio sanchez is my new drumming idol..uber godlike jazz drumming!!! couldn't have asked for more...

just watching this concert and i've learnt a couple of things... firstly...jazz is a bigger genre than what i thought it was... from the fast swings to the slow soothing stuff...there's also experimental ambient stuff...pat metheny did quite a bit of pick slides and more sonic rather than melodic stuff...

secondly, playing with a good dynamic range, what i mean here is loud soft issues, on acoustic instruments can bring a whole new dimension to your playing....especially on mellow slower stuff... maybe its because of this issue that almost all jazz drummers play traditional grip... well...this is an area that i can really think about and maybe apply to how i play...

i can't play jazz at all...on any instrument...

jamming with O.R.E was quite fun today... did lots of work on the original...so i guess its a pretty productive jamming session... so now i really can make plans to make a demo...

went to eat with the guys at novena...den had a long chat with adam at starbucks...

i hope that somehow i can buy cubase, an ibook( or whatever mac notebooks are called) and a recording hardware...i wanna do some experimental ambient stuff next time...think radiohead kid A/Amnesiac album...something like that...but i also want to do the 70s synthesizer sound thing...so maybe a cross of Yes and Radiohead... yea...but when den i can buy these...i dunno...

as much as i love indie...i can't come up with super indie riffs.... well...anyway...i have a very cool idea for a song to be built on... yes...after writing and throwing away, writing and throwing away... ideas after ideas...i think this 1 seems promising... no plans for tomorrow...that means i can spend the day trying to develop this idea...

watching league of extraordinary gentlemen followed by a couple of soccer matches didn't seem that long today...maybe because they were all entertaining... arsenal plays the most entertaining football in the EPL... love to watch them...

Didn't go to church today..instead watched city harvest service live online... they have a DW drumset parked in expo!!...i also saw the guitarist using a gibson SG and a Gibson Les Paul on a guitar stand... amazingly rich i say!

pat metheny trio here i come!!! heard the drummer was some super coordination freak...so that's another thing to look out in addition to the great guitaring i'm gonna see... ATM reads a very unhealthy amount after buying the ticket...with at least 2 jamming sessions next week..i'm having to put my pockets to the test...nothing much to worry though...i've been through poorer times...

2 nights spent staying up watching football... saw a incredibly lucky Man Utd win and saw Chelski bow out in the champions league to the wonderful Barcelona and Ronaldinho who is in his own league in terms of attacking prowess... highly tempted by Arsenal v Real Madrid... but 3 nights sleeping at 6am with some things to do the following day is too much for me...

Still alot of the holidays remaining...5 weeks or 6 weeks i can't really remember... in fact i even have trouble keeping track of what day it is...

I want to jam with O.R.E next week... work on the original and den have some concrete thoughts about making a demo...

Night cycling next week...i hope my mum allows me to go...

watched some videos of local performances...like buddhiston from japan at baybeats... and local acts like electrico and crossbred... damn...now i have a liking for rickenbecker guitars.... if i can only buy 2 more guitars for the rest of my life... i would buy a Fender Telecaster and a Rickenbecker semihollow guitar... if i can even choose the finish...it would be natural finish looking as matt as possibly allowed...

I've only recently listened to a few of The Smashing Pumpkins' music... and i think that they are a pretty cool band...vocals not really to my liking but hey..the music is cool... and i'm real lagging here... they were formed in 1988 and disband around 2000...only now then i've heard them... but its better late then never...

i think every guitarist has to go through the want to shred phase... like what i'm going through now...although i can't shred shit... some get out of that phase...and they shred less and more tastefully... say guitarists like john mayer or even omar from mars volta... while some never get out of that phase... like malmsteen...haha! shred like water all day long...shred like they have no chance to shred tomorrow... i wonder which will i end up... hopefully not the 2nd option... i just want to have the option to shred! or will i never ever be able to shred?

holidays seems like its been around for so long when the official holidays have only begun! 6 more weeks of this life to go through... lots of time and little funds means lots of days spent in the comfort of my room...

jammed with dr brain's today... it actually went more fun den expected... i think we'll have 1 rather cool original coming up... i'm pretty excited about that song actually... was quite shiok to jam... and now listening it back...still sounds quite shiok...need to work on the details...but yea..still shiok...

arif has some pretty cool ideas in his head man...pillows was pretty great...and i think this 1's gonna be nice as well... maybe esther and him will make a great songwriting partnership...

well...today's session spurred me to work on the current O.R.E stuff... yea...did some rearranging of sequence to Couldn't be, Certainly... so next jamming session i hope to concentrate on it...
