B-Quartet was great, incredible, magnificent and what ever superlatives that can describe them... I dam love their new material... super great stuff they have!! and yes...i see a genius at work... Bani Haykal is a fucking genius!!!!!! He's Singapore's Thom Yorke in my eyes... and after today's show... i see him in the same league as Leslie Low... geniuses geniuses both of them... and not to forget about the rest of the band... they were great too!! they've cut down the shred and did uber tasteful lines and parts...awesome stuff!!!First time i see Bani drumming so relax but so kena... I think the EP they released quite a while back do not do them justice anymore... now is so much better!!!In my eyes one of the best band in singapore. Unfortunately, this might have been the last gig the band play... hope they don't disband... what a waste... i hope that at some point in my life...i can work with Bani Haykal... hopefully if that happens, i will be at that time much much much better than what i am now...
Anyhow...10mins gig again for NP on Friday... still do come down to support us... You And Whose Army? we'll be on around 7.30... so pls come pls come...we'll really appreciate it!!!
And i really need to build my sound...a real serious ownage sound..... GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

so well...i may not be getting a fender next year... mum's not getting as much $$ as she thought she got and its not right for me to demand for it... so... i hope attachment's good money and there's a God-send good deal for me waiting... anyhow...tt's tomorrow's problem...
i feel like a headless chicken sometimes... i don't know where i'm going, what i want, how to do certain stuff, why certain things don't come my way and things like that... yet...there are stuff that i am very clear about... i know i want You And Whose Army? to make it and go as far as it can go... i know my limitations on an instrument... there are lots of stuff i wished i could play but can't...and yes..i cannot shred... and i know my principles and stand by them...
sometimes i wish i have more money... just so that i can explore more stuff... like an apple lappy with Reason & protools le... money to take driving lessons... but i know getting these stuffs too easy wouldn't be a good thing for me...
so that's enough of emo ranting for the day... i can't collate my thoughts and write them down in a form that would make sense even for me when i read it the next time...till the next post...

Jamming yesterday was okay... i didn't really feel it... but benita was on form...great job there... so..we prepared our set for the 10 min gig... covering a short version of 1979... i'll post more details of that when i have it...its on the 25th..
went to Channel V's official launch party at zouk today... had to do some fake crowd filming before the event started... haha..so now i know how tv shows do that kind of event... Rivermaya was great! too bad can't hear the shred clearly..but wah... shiokness music...the vocalist look like dave grohl some more...haha!! Ryan Star... rock star la... but...they should have brought his whole band along with him... 1 acoustic guitar like not shiok enough... Caleb and his band were there.. he bought me drink...so that was cool... so i'm gonna watch his show tml..haha!! And yes..i shall say again...clubbing is totally not my thing... went into phuture..and the crowd just turned me off...too many pple... i don't think i'll step into clubs unless there's a real good valid reason for me to be there...
my comp gave me a scare by refusing to switch on...i think it's sign to get a new 1... i hope i can get a new comp somewhere somehow...

i have finally admitted to myself that i am no guitarist... not saying that i can't play guitar... but probably all the guitar i can play good is my own music and some simple very coverable songs... however..i'm still gonna invest in guitar gear... so next up on my gear acquisition list is probably a stereo pulsar.
so enough about the gear talk... which i'm no longer as crazed about...until maybe when i have good financial status... my mind has been rather random recently...thinking about all sorts of things... and forgetting them sometimes as soon as the next instance... nothing much important to think about nowadays... this randomness is affecting my creative process...especially in the language part of it... good sometimes...bad other times...
anyhow...i realised that clubbing really isn't my thing... went to DXO to watch bani work in the pub section of it... but we've spent quite a good little time in the clubbing section and i'd already said to myself... "this is totally not my shit, i'd take chilling out with a glass of beer over this anytime man".

went to help geoff to do some pre recording session setup work at a studio... pretty cool experience... get to see how this line of work goes... most of the job was to set up the mics for the drums and get some most of the drum sound they want to hear in the studio... so 1/2 the time i was hitting snares, kicks, toms, cymbals while supressing the urge to let go more... but they allowed me at times to let go abit so that was cool... anyhow..tonight's experience was nice...eye opening and could be an insight to what i would be doing next time.... possibility i will be earning my rice doing stuff like this...
anyhow...geoff invited me to watch the session tml...9am at lavender...i shall leave it to fate if i should go... i will set my alarm clock and if i don't wake up...den its not fated... hur hur....
shit..still so much work to do... screw all of this e-learning week shit... and i especially hate that stupid bloody troublesome MUST assignment!!!

this week has been interesting for me... its called Gear Week...
Firstly..back to thursday's jamming... saw ang moh using a rickenbacker.... i was like "Oh My God!! Its a Rickenbacker!" totally shocked to actually seeing someone in singapore owning 1.
Then its yesterday's SB talentime... haha... first about the gear...there's this lecturer with his band who has been playing in the local scene since the 90s...indie...his gear happening... Fender Tele-sonic, Mesa Boogie f50 and a huge ass pedalboard with the Boss Pitch Shifter/Delay and the bootik Carl Martin Surf Trem that i'm interested in. Geoff is cool for treating us prata and sharing lots of stuff with us... i now still don't know what my niche is in the music industry... musician? songwriter? arranger? engineer? well... i still haf 1 yr of poly to go and 2 yrs in the army to work that out.
Finally to today... auditions at NP... it was a cool audition and i think we did reasonably ok for a first performance as a band... but back on topic about the gear... yes... this is only an audition for a gig and they have for guitars a Vox AC30CC2 and a Roland JC... that dam cool la! so i can say for the 1st time in my life i have used a good amp...and i think it sounds cool..although i couldn't really hear myself today...but what the hell..how many times do i get to play an amp of such calibre!! and Thom Yorke uses this amp!!!!!!! Now all thats left is to try the Fender Twin Reverb and i can say i've tried all the amps i am interested in at this point in time...
Well..next week's E-learning week and i haven done the assignments yet.... die!
