AC booster was killer! i would seriously consider 1... but i wanna try the BB 1st.. some drive pedal called full metal jacket...dun really like it..but so much gain that even i could shred...hahaha...cannot stop...

nearing the end of my ITP stint in school...2 more days to go... looking forward to heading back to snakeweed again to finish up my ITP... and ask Leonard the boss all about the USA... and get my money!!!
i think the next couple of months are going to be quite interesting for me... back to school for the final year of my poly education... YAWA? has some quite exciting stuff coming up!! so...keep a watch out for that! =)
i feel that i am constantly growing, musically and person wise, and constantly stagnating at the same time... i wonder which is true.... its like time which seems to pass fast and slow... ITP feels forever but we're going into year 3 already...

3 weeks of itp to go... seemed like forever...yet seems so fast as well...but i can't wait for it to end!! to end means school again...HURRAY!...to end means some money in my pocket or bank account...HURRAY!! to end means new gear!!!! HUUUUURAAAAYYYY!!!!
going through some sort of a creativity dry spell at the moment... but i guess YAWA? has enough songs for now...and new material isn't a priority at the moment...
i feel a little flustered this couple of days... don't really know why... just like can't really feel totally calm.."xin jing bu liao"... hur hur...
i wanna learn driving soon as well... i think i am gonna register for basic theory test soon... SOON!

jamming today... went rather well... Ordinary is King developed much faster than i expected... can say that its 85% done and its onli the 2nd jam... and its shiok!! i'm not really in a position to say if its a good or bad song... but i feel quite good about it... Piano idea song which is called "Binds" is progressing well... but still feels somewhat empty... hopefully Adam's FM4 will do the trick... Fear or John Butler song didn't do as well... but i think i just figured out how to make my falsetto cut through more...so i have to remember it and try it in the next jam...
Overall..i think You And Whose Army? is progressing well... and the seeds we sowed are slowly starting to grow... so lets work hard and make the most out of the opportunities that come our way..
ITP...feels like so long already...i can't wait for school to reopen again!

This week has been rather kind... Two days off from work... Caught Jaga Jazzist on tuesday...which is THE most awesome and enjoyable act i caught so far... Hiromi was great...Pat Metheny was great...but i enjoy Jaga's music more then theirs...so they are greatest by far... Wednesday.. went to snakeweed to help Wayne out with Levan's solo stuff... left earlier cos i was getting bored and qr and gang wanted to play CM...haha...
Today i went to sch for my itp... funny enough... i enjoy doing the stuff Erica assigned more than going down to snakeweed... for now...as least i get to do something and time passes faster..and i get the nights to myself... more of a "life"...Geoff says i should write better in my log book.. and after thinking about it... i agree...so i would have to find a day to do it up..
Finally got down to an hr of drum practise...and realising how lousy and rusty i am... i now realise where to start practising... i need to do up my techniques!!
2 more weeks of itp in school...whee....

local scene is all about cliques and contacts... we don't seem to fit well in any of them... well..our best hope is some gig organizers giving us a chance and our music grabs attention... but that aside.. the band members of YAWA? have accepted the proposal to try out the new concept of songwriting... really exploring creative space here... if it works well...i can't imagine what the end product will be like... and that is the cool part... so far for all of YAWA?'s stuff... i know how it will roughly sound like... so this is new experience for me..and probably for the rest of the band as well... and yea...i feel a good blend of these different songwriting methods has the chance or potential to come out with something great...
mosaic is this week...and its a pity i can't afford to go for all that i want...Album Leaf, Tower Of Power, Rachel Yamagata...well...at least i'm going for Jaga Jazzist and i am grateful for that..
today i listened to all the lesser liked and known Radiohead songs on Ok Computer and Kid A. Namely, Exit music(for a film), The Tourist, How to Disappear Completely, Treefingers and In Limbo... and i find them totally awesome! especially Exit music and How to Disappear Completely...totally blew me away... although i have to admit that they are less memorable..
And the lyrics to Shiina Ringo's Kuki(stem) are totally awesome as well... i especially love the way it ends...the melody and the words right at the end are downright style... style style style style!

leonard soosay is going to be gone for 3 weeks... so in the next three weeks i have pretty much nothing to do..except for maybe when Wayne Thunder calls me to help out... Mosaic is next week! Jaga Jazzist and i wanna go Chick Corea...just for the experience...
Internship... though i am pretty much free and easy at snakeweed... but... it has got me thinking about what should i do or attempt to do for a living... the audio engineer thing though its very interesting and i am interested in it... is tough... i have to work very hard to make a name for myself... and i am still a far far far long long long way from reaching the standard... my ears are not there yet...subtle changes i can't really tell.. and i feel its these subtle things you do in addition to the more obvious changes that makes you a good sound engineer... and my knowledge of all the stuff is not there yet...
other jobs in the industry i have no or little experience...so i can't tell... working a normal 9-5 job and doing the band thing in my spare time seems to be a very practical solution too...if the band thing is well..and you have income to eat rice, pay bills and make music...
well..enough for thoughts about the future... the time is now and listening repeatedly to so much other pple's music is NOT GOOD for the creative process..their songs get stuck in my head...
YAWA? needs gigs... YAWA? needs exposure... YAWA? has sewn a seed or two... lets hope we get a chance soon.... hur hur...

found a real old vcd just now... 12 storeys by Eric Khoo... watched it 1st when i was like 9 or 10. Thought it was a utterly boring movie which i don't even know what its trying to say...after 10 years...watching it now...i find it a pretty nice movie...though some of the issues that were addressed in the movie is no longer a big "issue" these days(shudders at morale values. hur hur)... melancholic, and also makes me reminisce those times...and the images and lingos of that era...words like "steads" you hardly ever hear it now...
the song when the movie started had a very familiar vocalist... song was melancholic and all... acoustic folk rock like..with very mellow and melancholic voice and lyrics...and i thought in my head...."Hey! this sounds like a less polished Leslie Low!"
and when i saw the credits roll at the end... 3 or 4 songs in the movie were by Humpback Oak!!!!! ahahahaha... perfect songwriter for a melancholic movie...
i think the British colonization has left its presence in Singapore... Melancholy... Jack Neo movies are melancholic, Eric Khoo movies are melancholic, Royston Tan's works are also melancholic, other local movie directors are also melancholic(S11, Singapore Dreaming), all the music involving Leslie Low that i know of is melancholic, Concave Scream also is somewhat melancholic... the list goes on...

i found out that snakeweed only has 7 inputs! yes 7 INPUTS ONLY!!! rock gerek man! the sound he gets from his gear is amazing...

Tokyo Jihen's album is quite happening... worth my $28... although japs singing in english really is quite funny... but songs are nice...
