seeing beni's post about Bar None, i realised that it is creeping closer than i think... with school somewhat piling up and 1/2 the band busy working for a few more days... we have only about 5 jams or less to get our act right. 5 jams to make sure we turn some heads. 5 jams to do ourselves justice. 5 jams to make it...or.....break it... 45 mins is uberly scary... we must not disappoint...
Meantime, i should memorize my lyrics and practise my own parts... somehow lyrics that i write are harder to remember..while covers are somehow easier...
REMT is proceeding smoothly... and P.O.D is harder den i expected..but i guess its cool as well...
P.O.D work 1: Pressure to conform + rock ending
somehow i roughly arranged it and is quite proud of the guitar solo lines i came up with.
P.O.D work 2: Binds + ambient section
shouldn't be too hard...but still more work to do..but not for me to worry about it now...
P.O.D work 3: music conrete
hardest work yet... must somehow find a mobile recording device...anyhow have MD recorders? lend lend?!
well..going to watch the musical Adam, James & Edwin are playing in tml...hur hur...

year 3 poly is hectic-ish...assignments are quite troublesome to do in that studio slots are quite hard to get... but thats life i guess...i am quite thankful that the school has 2 decent studios rooms with very happening Protools System...and they even bought a set of drum mics which sounds quite good considering how cheap they cost... fight fight fight for studio time...fight fight fight even more as the weeks pass...
musical ideas are flowing in good amounts at the moment...but dun really feel like sitting down and finalising those ideas into a song... which is kind of cool for now...for the ideas to develop and evolve even further as the need for songs isn't great now...
I would love to try working with musicians outside my normal working kakis...namely Adam and James... for new experience's sake...for expanding my network of working partners' sake...for going out of my comfort zone's sake...for sake's sake... for so i won't look stupid playing in different bands with the same members' sake...for experiment's sake... i don't mind doing it just for a 1 off thing... like a 1 song collaboration thingy... like a me sessioning for pple thingy...
May holds hope and excitement... YAWA?'s preparation for and performance at Bar None, Indus Gendi resuming jamming and me being able to drum in a proper setting....
I really respect people who can at least appear so calm in very tough times... RESPECT!

itp at snakeweed has ended...so i shall do a little reflection of my 4-5 weeks there... looking back, it has been a great experience for me... for the experience in itself was priceless... learnt quite a bit... of what studio life is like(at least for the not so commercial scene)... watched how leonard soosay did his job... made a few mental notes of what he did...so i did learn quite a bit just by watching him work... wayne thunder was the other engineer at snakeweed...new at engineering he may be(or at least i guess he's new), but for someone new i think he's rather good...heard the stuff he mixed...pretty good i'd say... so all in all...i've learnt to do studio work snakeweed style...
ballyhoo today was okay... randolf talking about gear sure is interesting...even for a self confessed gear freak like me..i can say i learned alot gear today...especially about amps... i guess after today...i might change the way how i set the eq on the amps...
life moves on and upcoming events are seemingly exciting... there's school, ballyhoo and Bar None gig to prepare for! not to mention my sis is getting married in a couple of weeks... eventful days ahead!

Easter sunday...had special item in church... went pretty okay...
Jamming today with YAWA went pretty well as well... Optimistic was much better than i expected... i think we just need to polish up the songs when May comes..and we should be fine for the Bar None gig...
Sometimes i wonder should YAWA? have acoustic songs or not... or should all the acoustic songs i write go to my so called "solo project"... point being the other members of the band wouldn't have much to play in the song...maybe some background harmonies and noises here and there and maybe backing vocals if needed... but well...have till the Bar None gig is over to think about this...
A practical idea of how to use my attachment pay just popped in my head...again assuming leonard gives me what i expect...
i can buy a Takimine D series like Bani's 1 + A portable harddrive + a Volume pedal or OD.
sounds like a good plan
last week of itp!

Slack week at snakeweed...didn't go down on monday...went on tuesday...no work wednesday...
gotta discuss my pay with leonard soon...
Observatory's new album is great! finally i understand and appreciate what they tried to play on stage... music aside...i think production wise its a great album also! it sounds great in my opinion...
i wanna buy John Butler Trio's new album too..its out! but i have used up my budget... so i guess end of april den i buy...
fra-foa songs are nice as well...almost all time favourite jap band...
i am still deciding what to do with my attachment pay...assuming leonard pays me what i expect.
1. Hope and pray for a good tele deal.
2. Try my luck with a Godin p90
3. Try my luck with a Simon & Patrick acoustic
4. Buy more pedals (Ernie ball volume pedal jr, AC/BB preamp)
5. Buy a bicycle, portable hardrive and a more decent pair of headphones.
