i just learnt how to do automation in reason... its crazy! you really can automate ANY parameter on the synth and on the mixer... i can't wait for my midi controller now.... i need to learn the synths and their capabilities...and the patching possibilities... hur hur...
my plan for the next couple of YAWA? songs to be non rock... gonna take my own sweet time and figure out how to do it... hur hur...
Humpback Oak is killer...i hope i can get my hands on their songs...

Gig at Home Club went okay... good enough for ourselves... nothing that great though... heard the FOH sound was much better than compared to Bar None...but Stage sound was crap... wall of sound on stage... i thank everyone who came down to watch us... thank you all for coming down...
YAWA? has no more confirmed upcoming gig... so i guess we have to go searching for shows to do again... hopefully searching for shows should be easier now as we did a couple of not bad gigs already... =)
Beer was killer cheap at $5 before midnight...lucky i had 2 coupons and decided not to spend anymore... hur hur...
oh yea... i think the ah beng cheer part for Karl Maka was damn best...hahaha....

1st week of holiday is gone, its a friday...and i'm stuck at home with nothing to do...which is cool and uncool at the same time... i installed Starcraft on my comp again...i still haven't return the cd to Ming Rui..hur hur...Starcraft is difficult to play...i totally suck at it... Hopefully i have a comp good enough to play Starcraft II when it comes out and a brain good enough as well...
Sessioned drums for Tian Hwee yesterday... most difficult session i had to do by far...initially thought it was a ballad..but so many punches to remember...and my timing ain't so good as well... so i guess i have to play more with the Metronome... but i feel i play drums better now than say...6 months ago... though i still have quite a distance to go should i want to use this craft to eat rice, feed wife and cloth children...hur hur...
Starting POD on monday...i did my guide track already..hope i can play the drums well... must kick ass for POD...
Ed O Brien on Dead Air Space posted that Radiohead are almost DONE with their ALBUM!!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!!!

Jamming didn't feel good today... it has nothing to do with the rest of the band... its just one of those days when i feel like shit doing anything musical... kind of like a mood swing... but well..i felt much better at the prata shop...
i have NOTHING to do tomorrow! Hurray!!
my goal for my contribution to YAWA? is to from now onli come up with "strong" material. As idealistic as it is...i hope we can achieve it... We have enough original songs to play for quite some months to come...so i can really concentrate and try out as much ideas with the band as possible... Feel free to tell me if you really don't like the idea... its ok...although i will still feel somewhat "hurt" as i think all songwriters who haven't "zou huo ru muo" have an emotional attachment to their "products"...but tell me...
Home Club next friday...somehow i don't feel excited about it....yet...

Went to Rock the Sub with James and Esther. Caught The Fire Fight, Caracal, Analogue Girl, Love Experiment & B-Quartet.
Fire Fight was great! Watching them live justified all the hype about them... they have been added to the list of local bands i would go out of my way to catch. Iain was quite killer just now.
Caracal...finally got to see them live...so much hype about them... don't like their musical direction and songs seem to sound repetitive... but 1 song was quite shiok! MARS VOLTA!!!
Analogue Girl was boring... or to put it nicely... just not my thing.
The Love Experiment... dam cute band..haha..music happy happy...and the way MrMisse groove dam cute...hahaha... I think the drummer's quite good and the keyboard works are quite nice.
B-Quartet...needless to say..another killer set...this time more stage antics...everyone of them was high! Bani Haykal and Leslie Low are my heroes in the local scene...
Caught Man in White with my old classmates who i didn't see for ages... pretty funny show...funnier den i expected...i'd recommend those with a good understanding of Hokkien & Cantonese to catch it.
Auditions with indus tml...as of now..i don't feel like going Bar None tml night...

i have finally come into realisation and admit that i know no shit about electronica. As much as i would like myself to be well versed in programming brilliant sounding music using a computer, i can't....yet. Currently listen to all the electronic and the slightly electronic stuff on my itunes...hope i can be inspired to program some killer drum beats for my P.O.D work 2...which is actually a YAWA? song btw... can't wait to get my Midi Controller so i can more extensively explore Reason.
I agree with what Geoff said today... a good song doesn't need complicated instrumentation...most of the time...less is More... take Bjork's Joga and Hyperballad for example... its not busy busy all over the place...just some drum loops, strings, some electronic stuff..and bjork's voice...
Holidays are coming... and P.O.D is kicking off... i still haven't figure a nice bass part that fits my Work 1.

Work is piling up and studio booking is insane! Week 1 of holidays is fully booked. Lucky i am almost done for REMT, minus recording, mixing and editing of vocals...i hope that the vocals is easy to blend with the rest of the tracks.
P.O.D presentation on Monday... i have mostly everything planned out for my Work 1 and Work 2 shouldn't be too hard to do... Work 3...wait till it comes den i worry... i hope something good happens and i can buy my laptop and Mbox soon...
MUMI assignment to be chionged next week! i am way behind schedule for this and lack inspiration for making sounds to those moving lines.
YAWA? has Home Club gig on the 22nd... i feel so lazy now... but we gotta stop resting on our asses and start jamming soon i guess... discuss set list and jam NEW SONG! WHEE!! i love to jam new material..
Installed Reason on my comp... i wanna buy a midi controller! Reason is quite funs to uses! Jialat! Dangerous! Reason + Laptop = gg
I think Malaysia is a land of hotties...Andrea Fonseka, Marion from Channel V and Li Xin Jie all hail from Malaysia...all i dam like...
