i forgot about the ballyhoo workshop which happened today.... haha....hope the guys at MFG didn't notice or won't get angry about it...hur hur...recording on wednesday... still thinking how best to do the guide track... maybe i should just record there...

Bumped into one of my ex crushes... so funny...we were so awkward and shy...didn't talk much...
watched Nana and Nana 2 online...story was okay...but i think Mika Nakashima's speaking voice is real sexy... plus the character's way of speaking...quite a power combination...

Trying to jam bjork song's on the drums at home is real fun and funny... only one i've managed to even play something is Human Behaviour...

some songs continue to fascinate me no matter how many times i listen to it.... i think that i would have achieved something in music making if someone is fascinated by 1 song i wrote no matter how many times he/she listens to it...

If i can make a dream album..i would want it to be produced by Bjork or Thom Yorke... Engineered by Nigel Goldrich, mastered by Bob Ludwig and have a music video done by Chris Cunningham or Michel Gondry...

snapping back to the real world... i would be very happy if YAWA? can have an EP released..mastered of course...

Miho Hatori @ Indie 103.1FM

Arep's recommendation...I quite like her as well...in some of her other works..to me she sounds like a laidback bjork... i think there's a chance of finding her album here as well =)

POD 1 presentation... went generally quite well for me... mixed comments on a few places. Michael didn't like the song but Geoff liked it... Jimmy didn't like some of the lyrics... but well...i am happy enough...so its all for POD 2 now... still figuring out how to arrange kickass midi stuff to add on to what the band's already playing...

Sometimes i wonder what do people think of YAWA?...how do they see it? even my bandmates as well...how do my bandmates see YAWA? am i the onli 1 self indulging in my own songs? but its not really my own songs entirely as well...it would never sound the way it is if i had supreme rein over everything... Gigs are hard to come by...for YAWA? it seems ages ago since Home Club... ok..i am not losing faith..just wondering...

Looking at the Obs' 1st album...gave me a glimmer of hope of releasing some form of a CD...maybe an EP... recorded at home and at yellowbox they did it... we could record 1/2 the album at home...like guitars and bass...just need a good TUBE amp that can CRANK... and hopefully we can get more den decent tones with 1 57... like that we only need studio for vox, drums and mixing...and the money for mastering and pressing...

or maybe i need to have a chat with Leonard Soosay or Geoff to see what can be worked out.. and work hard to earn some $$ for recording and a nice holiday somewhere... but money is 1 tricky issue to deal with band members... when the time comes den say la...now just plan plan and try to work towards it...

gigged with indus at Scape @ YOuth park today... pretty nice...thought we did better than tapestry... and the event was nicer also la... the workshop part was quite fun...Eric Ng talking about his experiences with taiwan pop and making the music for 881... he's an ah beng la...dam funny the way he talk... so yea...prettu fun day...many thanks to all who came down to watch... lazy to name all liao...becoming routine after every gig..but yea..still must thanks...

oh yea...a couple of things Eric Ng talked about i think makes sense... You want to sell albums...You have to sell out...and be proud selling out!...if you want to do the more underground or out there shit...don't complain if nobody buys your CD... perhaps until the day the local band scene can really make big money...

So not much upcoming plans...YAWA? recording for Ballyhoo...hopefully we are good enough to end up on the compilation!

PAM concert was crap...didn't play well...didn't sing well...but still..thanks to all who came down to watch...really appreciate it... at least the 1 thing i wanted to do was fulfilled...i had fun on stage...haha..talking shit and all..

watched 881 with Jwee Keat, Shao Chong, JY, Mel, Esther...rare combination...i didn't really enjoy the movie.. i felt the plot was too thin...and too much crap parts like the lazer shooting and all... too much singing for the thin storyline as well... but i liked the singing of hokkien oldies with changed lyrics to tell the story to some extent...i also think the casting for the papaya sisters was very good...i felt the 2 was totally meant for each other... some jokes were quite funny as well...and of course there's choy and may... a decent proficiency in hokkien is a must for this movie... and of course if you want to relive that inner beng and lians in you..go watch it.. understanding the lyrics in the songs are quite important...

Assignments to chiong...ARRANGING AND MUMI!!! hur hur...chiong ah!!! huat ah!!

Baybeats today...caught Giants Must Fall, They Will Kill Us All and B-Quartet!

Giants Must Fall impressed me...i was just walking around looking for the arena stage when i saw the lead lady vox holding a rickenbacker..."rickenbacker" made me stop to watch...but they were more than good enough to make me stay for the entire set... though music on the emo side...christian emo rock...not unexpected from the wake me up clan... i'd be surprised if they signed a post rock band...

They Will Kill Us All was quite nice! More of the indie i am into...sounds like a real indiefied version of Mew...very nice! thoroughly enjoyed their set.

B-Quartet was BRILLIANT! its amazing how much musicality they have... i can't get sick of watching them...always a great experience... i hope to share the same stage with them again someday!

I really wish YAWA? could get some gigs... but anyway..mean time its back to the jamming studio to work out more material... hopefully better than what we have already...

POD is dark side...tin hee is dark side...everybody knows why.... bloody hell!

i like broken social scene...a few songs...rest of them kind of boring...but watching like 15 pple on stage(when they have their full lineup) having so much fun...makes me feel like doing something like that.... if anyone forming happy indie band with little gain and wanna have a huge party on stage and think that i am eligible to be a satellite(not full time) member... pls contact me...i am highly interested...haha...
